Perry Hayes, living a mile and a half east of Whitesville died at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon of heart trouble. He was the son of William and Betty Grissom Hayes and was born April 15, 1883.  On December 24, 1903, he was married to Miss Eva Campbell of Mace. His mother, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Besides his widow and three children, Helen, Raymond and Mildred his father, one brother, Home Hayes and four sisters, Mrs. Frank McMullen, Mrs. Harry McNulty, Mrs. John Harris and Mrs. Roy Shelton survive. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church and Red Men and Knights of Pythias orders of Mace. He was also a member of the Montgomery Klan, No 23. The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon from the Mace Methodist Church in charge of Rev. Frank Howard. Burial at Mace K of P cemetery. – kbz
